Zoom Class with Kelly Ashton, Kellyquilter.com

This week, I attended a Zoom class through Forsyth Piecers and Quilters Guild. It was a workshop with Kelly Ashton from Kellyquilter.com. She considers it her mission to teach Y seams.   Check out her website.

I purchased a kit that contained patterns and acrylic templates to make tumbling blocks and inner city blocks. The templates have many features that allow cutting and sewing precision.

It was a great class and I have improved my skills.  I doubt that I will make a huge quilt with this method but it will be great for smaller wall hangings and possibly tote bags.

Here is a picture of my blocks.  I still have a few more to finish. Right now, this is a WIP. (work in progress!)

I love 3D blocks and quilts and the way you place the fabric and use values in the colors makes this very 3D.

Until next time, Happy Sewing!

It's been a long time.

It wasn't quite a year like I predicted but it HAS been several months since I have posted.  I have decided to not try to do everything as in post to blog, post to Facebook, post to Instagram.

I think I will just try to post to the blog and leave everything else.  One reason is that I get bogged down in looking at Facebook or Instagram and forget why I am there.  I learn a lot of useless information but then I run out of time and/or forget why I am there.  I am sure no one else has that problem.

Anyway, I have posted some of the projects from this year so far on a new page called Projects from 2022.  I also posted some items from 2021 projects on another page.  Hopefully, I will be able to start posting more regularly.   I have plans for pictures of my finished basement and pictures from our Idaho trip last year.

That's it for today.

Until next time, Happy Sewing!
