Kimberbell project for Sewingly Yours

This is from the Baby Lock training class on embroidery. I was learning how to use the quilting hexagon functions on the Solaris. This is pretty cool. AND very easy.

This is the sample I made in the same class. I pulled a jpg file into IQ Designer and made a edge to edge quilting pattern out of it. Also, very easy.

And another one.

I made this quilt as a sample for Sewingly Yours. Later I came back and purchased it as a gift for the mother of one of my daughter's special friends.

This is the beginnings of a tote using batiks and scrappy rulers. I cut out a lot of scraps and need to get the totes made.

and a third one.

And a fourth one!

This is a 3 yard quilt that I made for a trip that we took to Idaho. I was originally going to take a picture of it everywhere we went but I kept forgetting to take it with me!!

Embroidered pouch. Just experimenting.

This was for a Kimberbell event for Sewingly Yours.

This is the other items for the event.

Close up of a quilt that I am quilting for customer. It was made by her grandmother but she never got to finish it. I am quilting it on the Solaris mimicking the hand quilted hearts that her grandmother started with.

I have experimented with many ways to handle heavy quilts with my embroidery machine. DIME had this on sale and I purchased it. It is the way to go if you do a lot of larger quilts on the domestic embroidery machine. It is called the Weightless Quilter and the link can be found here.

These are Easter baskets that I made.

Sorry. This is sideways but it is a project that I completed after taking Baby Lock's serger training class. It is currently hanging at Sewingly Yours.

This is a experiment in piecing scraps. I will be making these into tote bags in the future.

I have designed a serger class on putting in a zipper and depending on how you sew the seams together, you can make different shaped pouches. This is a wonderful way to use up scraps. I take 2 pieces of fabric and sandwich batting in the middle. Quilt it on my Solaris. Install the zipper and finish it with a serger. This is a tri-shaped pouch.

This is your normal zipper on top pouch.

This is a centered zipper pouch. Looks like a tissue container.
