Video about the tools that come with the Baby Lock Triumph Serger

I am in the process of trying to finish up the Baby Lock certifications for sergers, quilting machines and embroidery machines.  If you work at a store, you can get access to videos that teach you about the machines. You must pass a test on each machine in each line (sergers, quilters and embroidery machines) and then you can get your Foundation Certification in each area.  I have completed all three of these and am working toward getting my Expert Certification in each area.

One of the things that you can do to get Expert Certification is to make a video teaching some aspect of that machine.  Here is the video that I did for the serger.

Martha Pullen Certifications

Starting in 2015 or so, I knew that I wanted to retire in the next few years and I wanted to go back to my roots of crafting and sewing.  Originally I received a Home Economics Education degree from UNC-Greensboro but could not find a job in teaching.  I ended up taking a temporary job at Pellcare - a nursing home in Walkertown.  It was Food Service Director and was just filling in for a maternity leave.  The lady decided that she did not want to come back so I ended up with a full-time job and just fell in love with it.  I worked in Food Service at a couple of nursing homes and went back to school for a computer science degree.  When I graduated, I was able to  move into the Business Office.  Since I had a baby, it was better schedule-wise.  No more working 7 days a week and early mornings to help with breakfast and late hours to finish supper!

I found an online class with Martha Pullen and signed up.  The first one was for beginning sewing.

Here are some of the projects that I had to complete.

A Rag Quilt

A Crazy Patch Pillow

A Quilted Pillow Sham

A Martha Pullen Tote

A Pullover Blouse and An A line Skirt ( blouse not shown)

A Madeira Table Runner

Until next time, Happy Sewing!
