Since I retired, I have wanted to do a blog. I would like to teach things that I learn and tell everyone about tips and techniques that have helped me.
I keep putting it off so TODAY, I am going to start this blog!!
I currently work at Sewingly Yours in Lewisville, NC 1 - 2 days a week so I am always learning about new fabrics, patterns, and notions that are coming out. We sell Baby Lock and Husqvarna Viking sewing machines and am learning about the machines daily.
I have sewn and done all kinds of crafts since I was a child. I have a degree in Home Economics Education but made a left turn and got a second degree in Computer Science when I couldn't get a teaching position. I have worked in long term care (nursing homes) for my entire career but since retiring, I feel like I have returned to my true love of sewing and crafting.
I set up a blog on Wordpress but it was just too complicated and too involved to maintain on any regular basis. I am going to try to go simple and add things along the way. I will try to learn as I go!
I attended the guild meeting tonight for Forsyth Piecers and Quilters. They introduced our guest speaker for next month and it sounds like a lot of fun. Her name is Christina Cameli and she specializes in free motion quilting. Check out her website here: Christina Cameli
This may be the only post that I publish but, hopefully, not!
Until next time, Happy Sewing!
